Description
Aglaonema 'Red Valentine' is a vividly coloured Chinese evergreen cultivar. The various Aglaonema species originate from the tropical rainforests of South East Asia and belong to the Arum family (Araceae). They prefer to grow in the shady undergrowth there, which makes them ideal for shady to semi-shady terrarium areas. This also applies to the cultivar 'Red Valentine'. It thrives best at temperatures between 18 and 24 °C and requires a relatively high humidity of around 60 to 80 %. Its bushy, compact growth is well suited to small to medium-sized terrariums.
The most striking feature of Aglaonema 'Red Valentine' is its pink variegated leaves with green edges and veins, which provide a colourful accent in the terrarium. The broad, oval leaves grow on short stems, giving the plant a dense, compact structure. Its undemanding care and low water requirements make it particularly suitable for tropical terrariums with constant humidity and diffuse light.
