Description
The AquaCare CO2-Reactor 50 is suitable for aquariums with a volume of up to 1.000 liters and is designed to be mounted inconspicuously in between the filter and the outlet. Due to the innovative procedure completley without a diffusion membrane the water is enriched with CO2 during the flow. In this way, the CO2 is simply distributed optimally throughout the aquarium via the filter circuit. Inside the reactor is a trickle material in which the CO2 flowing, coming from the pressure bottle, collides several times and is thus divided into the finest bubbles. The desired CO2-concentration of the water is reached before it enters the aquarium.
Through the transparent housing, the number of bubbles fed from the CO2-source can be read easily without the need for an external bubble counter. In addition, thanks to the absence of a membrane, the reactor does not require regular cleaning and maintenance and it operates nearly noisless.
To control the CO2-concentration in the aquarium, a drop checker is recommended. Furthermore, the upstream CO2-system should be protected from backflowing water with an appropriate check valve.
The reactor is capable of handling a waterflow of up to 400 l/h. If the filter pump has a flow rate much higher than 400 l/h, it is recommended to connect the AquaCare Bypass CO2 Reactor 50 mm.
The CO2-reactor can also be used for saltwater aquariums. However, it is recommended to use it only in nitrogen and phosphate limited marine tanks and to perform a consistent pH-control.
The various pre-installed grommets allow easy integration into an already established filter circuit. The universal grommets d12, d16 and d20 are suitable for hoses with the corresponding inner diameter (12, 16, 20 mm). The Eheim grommets are additionally equipped with a PVC union nut and are also suitable for 12 or 16 mm hoses.
Features
- CO2-addition without diffuser membrane
- Unobtrusive integration into the filter circuit
- No hissing and squeaking from membranes
- No more maintenance required
- High hydraulic performance
- Number of bubbles can be read quite easily
- Including fastening set consisting of two screws and two matching dowels
Note
The pH-value of the water should be checked regularly (continuously for saltwater tanks) when using the CO2-reactor.
To protect the CO2-system a suitable check valve should be added in the circuit.
The AquaCare CO2-reactor must only be operated upright.
