Chihiros CO₂ Set Premium

The CO₂ Premium Set combines high-precision components for efficient and consistent CO₂ supply. It includes the Chihiros CO₂ Pressure Regulator PRO with an integrated solenoid valve and bubble counter, a CO₂ high-pressure hose (PUR, crystal clear, 3 m), an Orb Checker Nano, the Aqua Rebell CO₂ indicator solution CO₂ Check (20 mg/l, 250 ml), and the Aquario Neo CO₂ Diffuser Original. This set ensures stable and reliable CO₂ fertilisation, making it ideal for demanding plants and complex layouts. The included components are of exceptional build quality and allow for precise control.

The Chihiros CO₂ Pressure Reducer PRO is a state-of-the-art device for precise control of the CO₂ supply in aquariums. With its dual pressure gauge, it is possible to accurately check the pressure in the CO₂ cylinder and the working pressure, which increases safety and reliability. An integrated high-precision safety valve provides additional safety by automatically releasing pressure above 100 PSI (6,89 bar). The working pressure can be set up to max. 6 bar. The 12V DC solenoid valve on the pressure reducer ensures that the CO₂ supply is safely interrupted, while the included Bluetooth controller reliably controls the start and stop times.
This device has a W21,8 standard thread and is equipped with a bubble counter that contains a built-in non-return valve. This prevents water from flowing back into the system and thus ensures trouble-free operation. A special feature is the option of app control and automatic timer switching using the Chihiros CO₂ Regulator Solenoid Controller. It is operated via the "My Chihiros" app, which requires a Bluetooth connection to enable efficient and user-friendly control of the CO₂ system.
With the separately available CO₂ pressure reducer PRO extension, the PRO system can be supplemented with an additional supply option.

The CO₂ high-pressure hose made of polyurethane is food-safe, absolutely crystal clear and without labeling. While PUR hoses are durable, they are not ideal for connecting to glassware. To ensure secure connections, the hose should be softened in very hot water before attaching it to fittings. Similarly, reheating the hose with hot water or a lighter before removing it from glassware reduces the risk of glass breakage.

The CO₂ Drop Checker (Orb Checker Nano) allows for optimal monitoring of CO₂ levels in aquarium water. The Aqua Rebell CO₂ indicator solution included in the set changes colour based on the CO₂ concentration. Green indicates an ideal CO₂ level of 20 mg/l, blue signifies low CO₂, and yellow warns of excessive CO₂ concentrations.

The AQUARIO NEO CO₂ Diffuser Original is a compact acrylic CO₂ diffuser that efficiently atomises CO₂ through a specialised ceramic membrane, ensuring it dissolves effectively in water. It might be helpful to soak the diffuser in water for about 10 minutes before initial use to displace any trapped air. This could be particularly beneficial during the first 24 hours after installation to minimize the formation of larger bubbles at the bottom edge of the ceramic membrane. Alternatively, one could simply wait after connecting it to the CO₂ system, as the CO₂ will eventually displace the remaining air on its own.

The following steps must be followed to set up the CO₂ regulator safely:

• Turn the pressure regulator fully anti-clockwise and close the needle valve clockwise as far as it will go, recognisable by the "OFF" sign. Any additional Chihiros bubble counter blocks should be fitted at this point
• Tighten the distributor block of the bubble counter and fill the chamber of the bubble counter with water
• Attach the regulator to the CO₂ cylinder and tighten the threaded adapter. A pressure-resistant CO₂ hose should be attached at this point.
• The solenoid cable of the controller is connected to the mains plug and plugged into a socket
• Now open the gas flow of the CO₂ cylinder as far as it will go
• Turn the push button clockwise to set the working pressure; 25 PSI is recommended
• Set the needle valve anti-clockwise to the desired CO₂ output so that CO₂ bubbles become visible in the chamber of the bubble counter
