Description
These versatile Catappa tubes are imported from Cambodia. They are made from the bark of the Sea Almond, also known as Catappa tree.Thanks to the active substances of this tropical tree, i.a. tannins and saponins, the bark is among the nature products with the strongest antibiotic effects. Additionally, the tubes provide an ideal shelter for shrimps, crayfishes and other aquarium inhabitants.

Usage
If the Catappa tubes are taken directly into the aquarium, they will float for several days before sinking to the ground. They can be made sink by blanching with hot water. About 1-2 tubes per 20-30 l of water.

So far I have only used the catappa leaves, but these tubes provides a natural hide out for small animals too.
