Description
This rather small orchid, up to about 15 cm tall, is a cross between Dendrobium cuthbertsonii (Papua New Guinea, Bismarck Archipelago) and Dendrobium glomeratum (also called D. sulawesiense, Sulawesi, Maluku). It forms elongated pseudobulbs with lanceolate leaves on a rootstock with adhesive roots. The leaves are covered with many tiny papillae and thus rough. The flowers are about 2 - 3 cm wide, white outside and pink inside.
Dendrobium cuthbertsonii x sulawesiense is an interesting epiphyte for rainforest terrariums that is a special highlight with its bicoloured flowers.
