Description
Dracaena fragrans 'Compacta' originates from the tropical regions of Africa and belongs to the family of Dragon Trees (Dracaenaceae). This species is characterized by its robust and low-maintenance nature, making it an ideal choice for indoor cultivation. Dracaena fragrans 'Compacta' prefers bright, indirect light but can also thrive in low-light conditions. For optimal care, the plant should be kept in well-draining, slightly moist soil, avoiding waterlogging. Regular misting of the leaves helps maintain high humidity, which benefits the plant.
Dracaena fragrans 'Compacta' is often placed in terrariums due to its compact growth form and decorative leaves. The dark green, glossy leaves are dense and lance-shaped, giving the plant a neat appearance. Although flowers are rare in indoor plants, small, fragrant white or pink flowers sometimes develop in clusters. This plant also improves air quality by absorbing pollutants like formaldehyde and benzene, making it particularly attractive for enclosed terrarium environments. Due to its small size, Dracaena fragrans 'Compacta' fits well in smaller terrariums while still offering an exotic and fresh aesthetic.
