Description
Drosera sp. "Lantau Island" is a carnivorous plant from the sundew family, originating from Hong Kong. This plant thrives well in moist, boggy environments and prefers a location with high humidity. The temperature should be between 18 and 30 °C to ensure optimal growth. Drosera sp. "Lantau Island" grows terrestrially and requires a nutrient-poor, acidic substrate, such as peat with perlite or sand.
This species forms rosette-shaped leaves covered with fine, sticky glandular hairs. These hairs secrete a sticky substance that serves as an insect trap. The leaves can reach a length of up to 5 cm. Drosera sp. "Lantau Island" produces small, delicate flowers, typically white or pink, during the blooming period. The flower stalks rise above the leaf rosette and can grow up to 15 cm high. Drosera sp. "Lantau Island" is perfect for humid terrariums, such as rainforest terrariums or moss terrariums. It thrives well in terrariums that provide high humidity and constant temperatures. Due to its compact size and easy care, it is an ideal choice for smaller terrariums and bottle gardens.
