Description

The Fluval C-Series Clip-On Filters are innovative backpack aquarium filters that keep fresh and marine aquarium water crystal clear with help of the unique 5-step cleaning system. Available are three different sizes suitable for freshwater and saltwater aquariums from approx. 35 to 265 litres.

In the first stage, coarse dirt is trapped in porous foam. Further mechanical cleaning takes place in the second stage with a dense polyester layer, where fine impurities are retained. Chemical cleansing takes place in the third stage, where activated carbon filters out unwanted odours, discolouration and chemical substances such as chlorine. Subsequently, the aquarium water is cleaned biologically in stages 4 and 5. For this purpose, a bio-screen first provides a large surface for useful bacteria to settle and at the same time prevents remaining dirt particles from entering the further biological level. In the latter, the biological trickle chamber, C-bio nodes ensure that the water is enriched with oxygen, which is conducive to a rapid reduction of toxic ammonia and nitrite.

For a secure hold on the aquarium rim, the filter has a leveler. After the filter has been hung over the edge of the aquarium, the leveler is turned until the filter sits firmly and completely vertically. In order to be able to vary the flow rate, the filter has a pin on the top which can be moved continuously. Maintenance of the Clip-On backpack filter is also very easy. An indicator rod shows when the foam insert needs cleaning. The filter can be opened from the top to remove the media individually.

Note

For best results, you should replace the poly/foam insert every 4 - 6 weeks. The activated carbon insert should be changed every 2 - 4 weeks. The bio-filter screen should be renewed every 2 - 3 months. The C-Bioknots should be renewed halfway every 6 months.
