Description

The Hobby Artemia Easy Breeder is an innovative breeding system for Artemia crustaceans, which are a valuable live food for aquarium fish due to their high nutrient density. Artemia crustaceans are particularly essential for rearing young fish and promoting colourfulness. The special design of the Easy Breeder enables gentle agitation of the eggs and hatched nauplii, resulting in an impressive hatching yield. At a temperature of 24 °C the nauplii hatch in just 24 - 36 hours, at 20 °C in around 30 - 40 hours.

The breeder can either be mounted on a sturdy stand or attached directly to the aquarium using suction cups in order to utilise optimum light and heat conditions. After filling with water and adding salt and Artemia eggs, the tube is connected to a separately available diaphragm pump. After hatching, the nauplii can simply be drained through the tube and fed. Alternatively, rearing to full size is also possible.
An aquarium air pump is required for operation. A non-return valve is required for installation below the breeder.

Application

For a setup with 300 ml of water, 9.6 g of HOBBY Artemia salt is needed. The amount of Artemia eggs is added as required. Alternatively, the HOBBY Artemix premix can be used.
