Description

The Hobby Vermiculite 4 l is a versatile substrate made from ore, specifically designed for incubating reptile eggs. With a fine grain size of 0 - 4 mm, it offers high water potential that closely adheres to the eggs, making it particularly suitable for small and soft-shelled eggs. The coarse grain size of 3 - 6 mm improves gas exchange through more air-filled pores and is ideal for large and hard-shelled eggs. The moisture of the substrate significantly influences the development of reptile eggs and can be controlled by adding water and selecting the appropriate grain size. Soft-shelled eggs, in particular, absorb large amounts of moisture during incubation. Therefore, Hobby Vermiculite is also ideal for use in terrariums, both as a water-retaining substrate for terrarium plants and for incubating reptile eggs.
