Description

JBL Micromec is a highly effective sintered glass filter material developed for biological filtration in aquariums. It offers a surface area around ten times larger than conventional filter sponges, which enables more effective colonisation of pollutant-degrading bacteria. These bacteria break down ammonium, nitrite and nitrate in the water, resulting in a significant improvement in water quality. The conical tunnel pores of JBL Micromec offer an optimum colonisation area of 1500 m² per litre.

JBL Micromec is particularly suitable for use in smaller aquarium filters, as the compact material offers maximum efficiency even where space is limited. It can be used in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums and makes a significant contribution to the biological self-cleaning of the water. The simple application as the penultimate filter stage achieves intensive and sustainable water purification.
