Description
The Juwel Bioflow filter systems are characterised by their particularly large filter volume, which provides plenty of space for excellent mechanical, chemical and biological filtration. This makes long filter life and long maintenance intervals possible. The intelligent design of the filter allows easy access to the pump and heater. Also, the use of special filter trays helps easy removal and cleaning of the filter media. In the filter system, the unique bipolar current principle is used, which provides different flow velocities in the filter.
The fast flow velocity in the mechanical and chemical filtration area is beneficial for high filtration performance. The slightly slower speed in the lower part of the filter makes it possible for anaerobic bacteria to develop optimally. 5 different filter media are used in the filter. The Juwel AquaHeat automatic heater is not included but can be purchased separately.
In order to use a filter from this series for tanks with small aquatic animals, it is recommended to use the Juwel FilterGrid, which has been designed especially for securing juvenile fish, shrimp and other invertebrates.

Maintenance
Juwel Filter media should be changed regularly in order to regain their funktionality. It is advisable to follow these intervals:
- BioPad: 1x per week, more frequently with heavily burrowing or very large fish
- BioCarb: 1x every 3-4 weeks, more frequently with dense stocking
- Nitrax: 1x every 8 Weeks
- BioPlus coarse/bioPlus fine: 1x every 3-9 months
It is recommended to exchange the impeller, axis and rubber axle holders once in 12 months to retain the highly effective perfomance of the filter.
