Description
Masdevallia 'BellaVallia' is an attractive medium-sized orchid hybrid with exotically shaped flowers.Species of Masdevallia, referred to as "flag orchids" in English due to the shape of their flowers, originate from tropical Central and South America and grow as epiphytes on trees or epilithically, on rock. M. 'Bellavallia' reaches about 20 - 40 cm in height and 20 - 30 cm in width. It forms dense bushes from shoots with lanceolate leaves. The red flowers appear singly on long stems. They are funnel-shaped, with the corolla extending into three long, thin tails.
This orchid variety, even when not flowering, is decorative with its leafy bushes as an epiphytic plant in tropical terrariums and forms a special highlight during its blooming period.
