Description

Neoregelia 'Caroline Tricolor' originates from the tropical forests of South America and belongs to the Bromeliad family. This epiphytic plant thrives best in a warm, humid climate with temperatures between 18 and 28 degrees Celsius. In its natural habitat, it grows on trees but can also be cultivated in well-drained substrate. For optimal growth, bright, indirect light and high humidity are required. The substrate should dry slightly between waterings, while the central tank of the plant should always remain filled with water.

The distinctive appearance of Neoregelia 'Caroline Tricolor' is characterised by its long, narrow leaves arranged in a compact rosette. The leaves are green with striking white and pink stripes, giving the plant a unique, tricoloured appearance. The leaf edges are smooth or slightly serrated and have a stiff, leathery texture. During the flowering period, the centre of the rosette often takes on a more intense colour, enhancing the decorative appearance of the plant.

In a terrarium, Neoregelia 'Caroline Tricolor' is a real eye-catcher due to its compact growth form and decorative colouration. The plant is suitable for planting in substrate as well as for epiphytic attachment to back walls or branches, offering diverse design possibilities. The central tank of the plant serves as a natural water source for terrarium inhabitants such as frogs and reptiles. The small, inconspicuous flowers that appear in the centre of the rosette are usually white or pale violet. Neoregelia 'Caroline Tricolor' is easy to care for and requires only occasional fertilisation during the growing season, making it an ideal choice for tropical terrariums.
