Description

The Palmpod Shrimp Cave is a unique natural product made from the halved fruits of the Palmyra palm (Borassus flabellifer). These come from the lush forests of Brazil and offer an excellent way to enrich the aquarium with a natural element that is both decorative and functional. The Palmpods are ideal for shrimp, crabs, and crayfish, which love to use the caves as hiding spots and retreats.

Palmpods contribute to natural habitat design and provide protection and security for aquarium inhabitants. The rough surface of the Palmpods also makes an excellent substrate for mosses and epiphytes, which can anchor themselves to the structure. Additionally, the Palmpods slowly release humic substances and tannins into the water, improving water quality and providing a mild antibacterial effect.

Due to their size and shape, Palmpods are versatile and fit both smaller nano aquariums and larger aquascapes. They are a great addition to any aquarium and help to create a natural and aesthetically pleasing environment.

Usage

Soak the Palmpods well before adding them to the aquarium. It takes some time for them to sink completely. To speed up the sinking process, the Palmpod can be weighed down with a stone through the large opening. The Palmpod can remain in the water until it completely decomposes.

As this is a natural product, size, shape, and color may vary from piece to piece. Please rinse thoroughly with clear water before use to remove any loose particles.
