Description
Rhipsalis cereuscula is a Coral cactus species that is native to the tropical regions of South America. The individual segments of this overhanging epiphyte have barely formed spines and are dark green. The cactus forms a loose network of shoots and looks quite bushy at first. Only as it grows does it acquire its pendulous shape. Individual shoots can reach a length of up to 60 cm.
Rhipsalis cereuscula finds a good place in medium to large rainforest terrariums. This place can also be on a wall or a branch. If the cactus is grown on the bottom or in a pot, it needs a loose and sandy substrate. In general, the coral cactus does not need much water, but it should not dry out. Its special structure provides variety to the mostly large-leaved plants. It can also be pruned into shape and is considered a rather undemanding plant.
