Description

Flourite Dark is a specially crushed, dimensionally stable natural clay substrate for planted aquariums. Although it works best in a heavily planted aquarium, it can of course also be used in any other freshwater aquarium. Flourite Dark is most effective when used as the sole substrate, but there is nothing to stop it being mixed with other gravels. Additional materials such as Laterite are not absolutely necessary. Flourite Dark is not chemically coated or treated. The pH value of the water is not affected by this substrate.

The substrate is pre-washed, but should still be rinsed again before use to remove any dust that may be present. In addition, the water should only be filled into the aquarium slowly to avoid cloudy water. However, a slight cloudiness in the first few hours is perfectly normal and no cause for concern. To remove such turbidity even faster, Seachem Clarity, for example, can be used together with a fine filter medium such as fleece or cotton wool.
