Apart from soil, gravel and sand, Tetra offers within the soil category the CompleteSubstrate, a ready-to-use substrate. The nutrient-rich and fertilised substrate provides aquatic plants with a broad spectrum of nutrients right from the start. This means that even demanding aquarium plants can grow reliably and develop strong roots. The ActiveSubstrate has a look similar to commercial gravel but can do much more. The porous structure of this peat granulate makes it much easier for plants to develop roots. It also has a natural look and fresh water can flow through it optimally. The permanent flow of oxygen-rich water through the substrate prevents the formation of excessive sludge over a long period of time, counteracts the formation of cyanobacteria and ultimately ensures clear and healthy water.
