Description

Tetra Malawi Granules are particularly suitable as a staple food for all herbivorous cichlids (cichlids) such as the algae-eaters from the mbuna group. The high-quality mixture of the three types of algae spirulina (20 %), nori (16 %) and chlorella (4 %) is specially tailored to the needs of these fish. There are several reasons for this: Mbuna cichlids in the wild continuously graze on algae-covered stones and rocks. It is vital for this fish species to eat incessantly in order to cover their daily energy requirements with the relatively nutrient-poor algae. The feeding behaviour of the animals does not change in an aquarium. This means that the fish greedily eat everything that is offered to them.
However, this behaviour quickly leads to obesity if the food is very high in energy. It is therefore all the more important that a food for mbuna cichlids is rich in all the important nutrients and vitamins, but still does not lead to obesity. Tetra Malawi Granules fulfil precisely these criteria: The protein-rich algae Spirulina platensis supports the cichlids' immune system, the algae Chlorella is rich in essential fatty acids and the Nori algae provides the fish with additional important fibre and minerals. The food is therefore rich in plant proteins and important nutrients, which promotes both the digestion and vitality of the cichlids. The protein-rich algae spirulina is supplemented by two other types of algae. All in all, Tetra Malawi Granules are therefore particularly suitable as a staple food for all herbivorous cichlids of the Mbuna group, but all other cichlids are also well supplied with the food.
