I didnt like turning off the filters and surface skimmers when feeding, so this solved my issue. As it is a bit ugly, I only use it with my aquariums that have a lid. (read more)
Even with moderate movement of the water at the surface, the food stays inside the ring.
After some time the fish get used to it and will always look for the food there.
