Description
JBL ProAqua test set NO3 is a means of exactly determining and routinely controlling the nitrate content in fresh water and marine tanks within a range of 5 - 240 mg/l (ppm). JBL has developed a compensational method for slightly discoloured water. When e.g. peat is added to the filter or medical treatments stain the water, you will still get precise and reliable readings.
It is important to shake the liquid for exactly one minute after adding the reagent in order to obtain a meaningful result.
Features
- For approx. 50 measurements with glass cuvettes
- For fresh water and salt water with two different colour scales
- Range of values: 240 mg/l
- Laboratory compensation system compensates intrinsic water colouration.
- Includes syringe for simple measurement of the amount of water
Application
- Rinse both test tubes several times with the water to be tested.
- Using the provided syringe, fill both test tubes with 10 ml of sample water each.
- In one of the test tubes, add 1 large measuring spoon (wide end of the provided double spoon) of Reagent 1 and then 6 drops of Reagent 2. Close the test tube and shake vigorously for exactly 1 minute until only traces of gray powder remain. Let it stand for 10 minutes until the color fully develops.
- Place both test tubes in the gray comparator block: the tube with the reagent added at the smooth end of the comparator block, and the tube with untreated sample water (blank sample) at the notched end.
- Place the comparator block with the two test tubes on the color chart so that the notch points to the values and move it on the color chart until the color of the reagent-treated sample matches the color under the blank sample as closely as possible.
- Read the nitrate content at the notch of the comparator.
