Diese hellgrüne, grazile Variante von Rotala rotundifolia wurde in Laos gefunden. Sie hat Ähnlichkeit mit R. rotundifolia "Periya", die aus Indien stammt. Wie diese wächst sie in der Unterwasserform buschig.
Allgemein sind die Formen der sehr variablen Rotala rotundifolia recht einfache Aquarienpflanzen. Sie zeigen sich aber bei guter Beleuchtung, CO2- und vollständiger Nährstoffversorgung von ihrer schönsten Seite. Der buschige Wuchs kann durch Beschneiden und Neustecken von lang gewordenen Trieben gefördert werden.
Rotala rotundifolia "Laos" wirkt besonders gut als Busch im Mittelgrund. Mit ihrer hellgrünen Färbung kontrastiert sie gut mit dunklen und roten Pflanzen.
